Romania outlasted Canada on Saturday, winning 21-16 in Bucharest. In a rematch from Rugby World Cup 2015, the Eastern Europeans extended their winning streak to four matches. Of the six games played Canada have two wins, those coming in Rugby World Cups 1991 and 1995.
To secure the win on Saturday the Oaks were forced to endure a second half comeback from Canada. The North Americans rallied from a 15-point deficit to finish just five points adrift. World Cup hero Florin Vlaicu was again at the heart of the Romanian triumph, scoring 16 points despite twice hitting the uprights with kicks at goal.
Both teams will play again this coming weekend. Romania will welcome Uruguay while Canada travel to Grenoble, France to face Samoa. A win for Romania would complete a clean-sweep of home wins this month. Canada are in search of returning home with one win.
