Argentina Name Unchanged Lineup for Scotland

Los Pumas Head Coach Daniel Hourcade has named an unchanged lineup to face Scotland. The South Americans will play their third of four November Internationals, doing so in the Scottish capital.

It is the second time this year that Hourcade has repeated a starting lineup. The other occasion was for the two tests against South Africa. Los Pumas won the second after having fallen late in away in Nelspruit.

With no changes made both Nicolás Sánchez and Joaquín Tuculet will retain their places. Both had been in doubt. This saw Juan Martín Hernández and Santiago Cordero training in their respective positions earlier this week.

The replacements does sees changes to that which faced Wales. Veteran Juan Manuel Leguizamon returns with Tomás Lezana dropping out. In the backs Jerónimo de la Fuente remains but Santiago González Iglesias misses out. His spot goes to Juan Pablo Estelles.

Should Estelles receive game time he will make his test debut. Capable of playing center or wing Estelles was a star for the Argentina XV in the Americas Rugby Championship. He also played in the 2016 Olympic Games. Since then he has moved to England and now plays for Northampton in the Aviva Premiership.

Estelles joins Tomás Cubelli in being the foreign legion in Hourcade’s team. The remanining twenty-one players all play their rugby in Argentina.

Earning his 50th cap against Scotland will be Sánchez. Should he score three or more points he will become Argentina’s third-highest scorer of all time. This would leave just Felipe Contepomi and Hugo Porta ahead of him.
