Americas Players in Guinness Pro 12 – Week 8

Followers from the Americas will have a few athletes to keep an eye on this weekend in the Pro 12. Argentina, Canada and the USA are all to have players involved.

This evening’s match between Edinburgh and Ulster will feature two players. Starting for the Northern Irish province will be Callum Black. The uncapped Loose Head remains eligible to play for the USA. On the bench for Edinburgh will be uncapped Argentine Tight Head prop Felipe Arregui.

Also in action today will be Shane O’Leary. The uncapped utility back has been named as a replacement for Connacht. The reigning Guinness Pro 12 champions play away to the Newport Gwent Dragons at Rodney Parade.

Californian Blaine Scully will join the Eagles for their second and third November fixtures. Both he and Cardiff Blues teammate Cam Dolan will be available to face Tonga and Romania. Before then though Scully has a game to play in Italy. Scully will play on the right wing this evening against Benetton Treviso.

Both Italian sides will be at home in week 8. Zebre will take-on Leinster in Parma. They will do so with Bruno Postiglioni. The former Pumas Loose Head prop will feature from the bench for the home side.

Last up will be a match in West Wales. The Scarlets will be at home to the Glasgow Warriors. Playing on the right wing will be DTH van der Merwe. A second Canadian will start the match with Djustice Sears-Duru playing Loose Head prop for Glasgow. USA bulldozer Langilangi Haupeakui will play as a replacement.
