Camacho Named by Buenos Aires for Campeonato Argentino

Heavyweights Buenos Aires have named Gonzalo Camacho in their squad for the upcoming National Provincial Championship. Las Aguilas (Eagles) are looking to defend their title which they won last season without dropping a game.

The former Harlequins, Exeter Chiefs, and Leicester Tigers winger will be the highest profile player for Buenos Aires. Having held down a starting spot at Rugby World Cup 2011 his inclusion is a significant boost for all of Argentine rugby.

Camacho will be surrounded by a host of players looking to catch a break. For a number of players the dream is to play Super Rugby in 2017 for Los Jaguares. The likes of Juan Cappiello, Juan Cruz González, Bautista Ezcurra and Pedro Mercerat played in the Americas Rugby Championship. Others such as Lautaro Bavaro, Bautista Delguy, and Joaquín Díaz Bonilla are strong contenders for Super Rugby.

Buenos Aires will open their account against Salta. The October 29 fixture will be a home game for Los Aguilas. It is to take place at the Hindú Club. Remaining matches will be against Córdoba, Cuyo, Rosario, and Tucumán.
