Argentine prop Arregui joins Edinburgh

Argentine prop Felipe Arregui has signed for Edinburgh with immediate effect. The uncapped tighthead joins the Scottish side until the end of January.

Aged just 22, Arregui has been a wider squad member for Los Pumas in 2016. He played five Super Rugby matches for Los Jaguares and subsequently was called into Los Pumas training. He had been named to play against the Springboks during the Rugby Championship only to be replaced by Lucas Noguera Paz at the 11th hour.

The Rosario prop is a product of the PladAR system. He represented Argentina at both under 19 and under 20 levels. Like a number of other Argentine front-rowers he is adapt at playing on either side of the front-row. Like Juan Imhoff and Jerónimo de la Fuente, Arregui comes from the prestigious club Duendes.
