Americas Players in Pro D2 – Week 7

While the Top 14 teams are all engaged in European competition this weekend, the Pro D2 continues its arduous season as it enters Week 7 of 30. Eight teams out of the 16 in action will feature Americas players this weekend, with Argentina, Canada, and Uruguay represented.

Six games take place on Friday evening. Vannes will have four Americas players in their lineup against Narbonne. Martín García Veiga returns at hooker with Conor Trainor again starting at outside centre. Second row Javier Lagioiosa and flyhalf Bautista Güemes are among the reserves.

Three Argentines will suit up at Stade Guy Boniface. Stade Montois are at home with Jerónimo Negrotto at tighthead prop and Carlos Muzzio the backup loosehead. The latter may come up against Lucás Martinez, who will be used as a second half replacement for visiting Albi.

Bourgoin hand the no8 jersey to Leandro Perez Galeone for their match against Agen. Nicolas Mirande is a reserve this week. Les Agennais will call Taylor Paris from the bench. Uruguay’s Felipe Berchesi returns to the Carcassonne starting lineup at flyhalf to face Argentine prop Leandro Assi and Biarritz.

Demián Panizzo, Agustín Costa Repetto, and Ariel Castellina are all in the frame to play for Colomiers against Aurillac on Sunday. The teams will be confirmed on Saturday morning. One who won’t be playing is Christian Ostberg, currently away with the USA Selects in the Americas Pacific Challenge.
