Rugby World Cup 2019 Semi Finals to be Played in Yokohama

Both Rugby World Cup 2019 Semi Final matches will be played at the Yokohama International Stadium. Akira Shimazu, the secretary-general of Japan’s event organizing committee, announced the plans at a convention in Yokohama on international sports facilities on Monday.

Shimmers confirmed that the venue is to be the center-piece stadium for the tournament. “The final, Semi Finals and other significant matches will be played in Yokohama“.

With a capacity of 72,327 the stadium is to be the largest of the tournament. It will be supported by eleven other venues across Japan.

The tournament will begin on September 20 2019 at Tokyo Stadium (Ajinomoto Stadium) and will conclude in Yokohama on November 02.

The world class facility that is Yokohama International Stadium hosted the 2002 FIFA World Cup Final. The venue is known as Nissan Stadium for commercial reasons.
