Americas Players in Top 14 – Week 7

Week 7 of the 2016-17 Top 14 season will see matches played on Saturday and Sunday in France. The competition features world class athletes from around the globe. Included are players from the Americas. This season’s edition is to continue with the importance of Americas players. Argentina, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Trinidad & Tobago, Uruguay and the USA are all represented.

This weekend will see five Saturday and two Sunday matches. First up will be Clermont vs Castres. The fixture will see Argentina vs Argentina at fly half. Patricio Fernández and Benjamin Urdapilleta will square off in an interesting clash of styles. Former Puma Horacio Agulla misses out for Castres this weekend.

Canada and Trinidad & Tobago will both have players in match two. Pau host Bordeaux in a fixture putting together two teams who won well last weekend. Matt Tierney will make his first appearance of the season as a replacement prop. Steffon Armitage continues in the back-row.

Bottom placed Bayonne have a great shot at a home win. They host Lyon, the other club who was promoted last season from the Pro D2. Former Puma Martín Bustos Moyano is missing after recovering from surgery. Bayonne’s Chileans will also miss the match. Former Pumas Agustín Figuerola and Francisco Gomez Kodela have both been named to start for Lyon.

Brive will be looking to cause another upset when they host Racing 92. Starting for the visitors on the right wing will be Juan Imhoff. The Rosario flier is missing from Los Pumas despite being Argentina’s best winger.

Sunday’s fixtures will see Stade Français and Toulon at home to La Rochelle and Montpellier respectively. Lineups for both matches will be announced on Saturday afternoon.
