Blaine Scully crossed for his first try of the Guinness Pro 12 season on Saturday. USA Eagles flier scored a first half try for the Cardiff Blues who played away to Zebre in Parma.
The Californian, Scully, crossed in the 28th minute. He did so by coming off his wing to slice through the mid-field and dive over near the posts.
Scully’s try was the first of three for the Cardiff Blues. Zebre matched the Welsh region’s try count with three of their own. With goal-kicking factoring in the Cardiff Blues ultimately won 23-21. For Scully the try was his first of the season.
The win sees the Cardiff Blues join Ulster at the top of the table. Zebre are down in 11th, ahead of the 2016 champions, Connacht.
The Cardiff Blues’ unbeaten start may be numbered. Next up is a home match against Leinster on Saturday. The Irish province is coming off a humbling win over the Ospreys this past weekend.
