In his first season in England, AJ MacGinty has started very strongly. On Saturday afternoon he kicked six goals for the Sale Sharks, whom he joined in the off-season from Connacht.
Having taken Connacht to an unlikely Guinness Pro 12 title the USA Eagles fly half is now looking to propel the Sale Sharks back towards the glory of a decade ago. The Northern England side has not been able to perform so strongly since that since but the rugby being played at present is highly encouraging.
MacGinty played the full match for Sale at the pivotal position of fly half. The former Life University goal-kicker had a solid performance, taking on former English international prospect Ryan Lamb. MacGinty converted four tries and kicked two penalties while Lamb converted three tries and kicked one conversion.
The game’s final score of 34-34 came after Worcester had been leading 31-17.
