Americas Players in RFU Championship – Week 4

Aaron Carpenter will make his first start in a London Welsh jersey on Sunday against a number of familiar faces. The Canadian no8 lines up against former club Cornish Pirates at Mennaye Field, with two of his international compadres Brett Beukeboom and Matt Evans at battle stations for the home side. Argentine import Nicolás de Battista continues at no12 for Pirates having impressed in the opening three matches.

Saturday’s action sees Justin Blanchet restored to the Bedford Blues starting lineup for the road game against Doncaster Knights. The Montreal native was a reserve last week after missing Week 2 with injury. One-time US Eagles international Ronnie McLean will start in the midfield for Richmond who host Rotherham Titans at the Athletic Grounds.

Elsewhere there is still no sign of Canadian duo Jebb Sinclair and Ciaran Hearn in the London Irish lineup. Neither have made an appearance thus far in the new Greene King IPA Championship campaign. Ignacio Sáenz Lancuba is a notable absentee from the Ealing Trailfinders roster, getting his first rest after the big win over Jersey last weekend.
