Montero, de la Fuente Return to Pumas Roster

Head Coach Daniel Hourcade named a 30-man roster for Argentina’s home match against New Zealand. Los Pumas will play host to New Zealand in Buenos Aires on October 01.

Missing from the 30-man roster is Juan Martín Hernández. The inside center was confirmed as being ruled out of the remainder of the Rugby Championship. He is expected back in time to face Japan in Tokyo in November. His place has gone to Jerónimo de la Fuente who missed the opening four rounds based on injury.

de la Fuente and winger Manuel Montero are the injured players whom Hourcade has recalled. They are expected to be fine to play against New Zealand. Missing are forwards Tomás Lezana and Santiago García Botta, both of whom are not yet match fit.

Also selected for the Buenos Aires test is the two-time capped Facundo Bosch. Hourcade has found a place for the hooker due to Agustín Creevy’s availability yet to be finalized. Creevy together with flanker Juan Manuel Leguizamón and second-rower Guido Petti are all on the roster yet are in doubt for the October 01 assignment.

Bosch was used by Los Jaguares in Super Rugby when Creevy was hurt. This saw him covering Julián Montoya. The same is now possible for Los Pumas but would, very much, be an emergency. The 25-year-old Bosch is uncapped but played two matches for the Argentina XV in the year’s South American Cup.
