Americas Players in Aviva Premiership – Week 3

Thretton Palamo will make his Aviva Premiership debut for Bristol in their away match to Wasps on Sunday. The US Eagles midfielder was previously on the books of Saracens but did not make a Premiership appearance while at the club. Joining him in the Bristol lineup is Argentine prop Gastón Cortes, who is selected among the reserves this week.

Friday’s fixture between Sale Sharks and Gloucester will not feature any Americas players. AJ MacGinty is ruled out again with the hamstring problem that kept him out of last week’s game. Also not playing in Week 3 is Mariano Galarza. The Argentine second row was knocked out by Alafoti Fa’osiliva’s elbow in Week 2. The Samoan has since pleaded guilty and has been suspended for one week.

Former Eagles skipper Chris Wyles makes his first appearance in the Saracens lineup this season, starting on the left wing against Northampton Saints on Saturday. Marcelo Bosch is retained at outside center and Juan Figallo will be a replacement prop.

Sunday’s match at Kingston Park will feature a half-dozen players with Americas connections. Canada’s Evan Olmstead moves into lock for Newcastle from the blindside, with Pumas World Cup center Juan Pablo Socino and PRO Rugby export Dominic Waldouck in the midfield. American-born prop Paddy Ryan and Argentine utility back Belisario Agulla are on the Falcons bench. Marcos Ayerza is in the Leicester Tigers side, albeit as a reserve.
