Americas Players in Pro D2 – Week 4

The fourth week of the French Pro D2 gets underway on Thursday evening with Agen hosting Biarritz at the Stade Armandie. Canadian wing Taylor Paris starts for the home team while Argentine tighthead Leandro Assi continues to anchor the front row for les Biarrots.

Two more Argentines run out for Colomiers against Narbonne on Friday. Agustín Costa Repetto will play hooker and behind him Demián Panizzo in the second row. Carlos Muzzio is named in the reserves for Mont-de-Marsan who travel to Montauban, while Uruguay’s Agustín Ormaechea starts at scrumhalf.

Another five from Argentina will take part on Friday, with Texan lock Christian Ostberg the only USA representative on duty as he reprises his bench role for Aurillac at Albi. Martín Chiappesoni is recalled at flanker by Dax who host Oyonnax, and hooker Bruno Mercanti is given his first Pro D2 start for Charente against Béziers. Leandro Pérez Galeone starts on the side of the scrum for Bourgoin at Stade Pierre Rajon. On the other team will be second row Javier Lagioiosa and prop Ramiro Pacheco, the latter set to come on as a replacement.

This week’s Sunday match sees Perpignan traveling to Carcassonne. Teams have yet to be confirmed but Los Teros star Felipe Berchesi should be in action for the hosts. Academy locks Paul Ciulini and Manuel Plaza are unlikely to feature having not been required for senior duty just yet by USAP.
