Argentine Fly Half Signs for Guinness Pro 12 Club

Guinness Pro 12 club Zebre have unveiled the arrival of a new Argentine player. 21-year-old uncapped Serafin Bordoli has joined the Italian city-side from Olivos in Buenos Aires.

It was playing in the URBA Top 14 that caught the attention of Zebre. He has played more than 50 matches for Olivos since debuting at the age of 18 in 2013. He will join props Bruno Postiglioni and Guillermo Roan to give Zebre three Argentine players.

In having joined Zebre Bordoli is now ineligible to play for Argentina. UAR laws block players based in Europe from being considered for international duty.

Zebre rugby though, suggest that the player may be an investment for Italy. Bordoli is of Italian origin with his family roots being from Sondrio in Lombardia. As such he could be capped to play for Italy based on the grandparent law.

For Argentina Bordoli has played at u18, u19 and u20 levels. He has named in Argentina’s roster for the 2014 World Rugby Junior World Championship in New Zealand only to be ruled out through injury.
