Imhoff Outsprints Huget to score for Racing 92

The impressive start to the Top 14 season has continued for Juan Imhoff. Since returning to Paris from Olympic Duty the Puma has played two matches, scoring a try in each. In round two he scored a 17th minute try against Lyon 29-16. It was backed-up last night as he scored in the 79th minute vs Toulouse.

Imhoff’s try from last night came from a Casey Laulala break. Being in the right place at the right time, Imhoff provided support to score from 30 meters out. In crossing he out sprinted first choice French winger Yoann Huget.

Imhoff’s strong form comes at a time in which Los Pumas have injury complications. Manuel Montero will miss the two upcoming test matches in New Zealand and Australia. Imhoff, though, is out of consideration due to the UAR putting a ban on European-based players from playing for Los Pumas. Players will only be considered in exceptional circumstances.
