Argentina Unchanged for Salta Test

Los Pumas Head Coach Daniel Hourcade has named an unchanged side for Saturday’s home test against South Africa. Argentina will be out for revenge against the Springboks in Salta when Agustín Creevy leads out his players.

Creevy is to again be joined by tighthead props Ramiro Herrera and Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro in the front-row. This sees no specialist loosehead starting. Instead 2016 products Felipe Arregui and Enrique Pieretto are to again be the replacement props.

Against the backdrop of rumors circulating about Guido Petti leaving Argentina for Toulon the second-rower will again act as a replacement. Matías Alemanno has been named ahead of him, joining Tomás Lavanini in the engine room.

The Northern Argentine natives of Juan Manuel Leguizamón and Facundo Isa make up to out of three parts of the back-row. Completing it will be Pablo Matera while Javier Ortega Desio will again be the replacement.

Tomás Cubelli will earn his 50th cap from the bench. He has again been named as back-up to Martín Landajo. This sees the Jaguares halves combination remaining for Los Pumas as Nicolás Sánchez will play first receiver.

El Mago, Juan Martín Hernández and Matías Orlando are to start together in mid-field. The selection n of Orlando comes as a surprise given the return of Matías Moroni from the Olympic Games. Moroni will need to wait until the Oceania tour before his Rugby Championship debut this year.

Outwide Manuel Montero and Santiago Cordero are to start and join Joaquín Tuculet in the back-three. This sees veteran Lucas González Amorosino again named as their cover.
