Sánchez Passes 400 Mark

On Saturday Argentina’s goal kicker, Nicolás Sánchez became the fourth Puma to pass 400 points in test rugby. The Tucumán’s 13 points against South Africa lifted his total to 404 points at test match level. He is now 82 points shy of third position which is held by Stade Français Coach Gonzalo Quesada.

Of the players still active Sánchez is joined by Juan Martín Hernández in the Top 10. With 149 points Hernández is 9th overall. Remarkably 10th place is occupied by winger José Maria Nuñez Piossek. All 145 of his points came from tries.

With Sánchez still being relatively young at 27 he ought to be able to finish higher in the list. The two players ahead of him are arguably Argentina’s greatest inside center and fly half. Should Sánchez climb to overtake them, it would truly be groundbreaking.
