Castres Olympique opened their Top 14 season with a 28-11 win over Pau on Saturday. Former Puma Benjamin Urdapilleta had a fine match as he created two tries and scored 11 points. He was captained by Uruguayan Rodrigo Capó Ortega.
Castres won the fixture despite losing scrum half Rory Kockott to a red card in the opening half. Being a man down only pushed Castres further and they responded strongly with Capó Ortega leading his team well.
The win sees Castres sitting in second position after round one. Pau, in contrast, are in thirteenth. Only Grenoble conceded more points than Pau this weekend.
In round two Pau will host Toulon who were shock losers this afternoon away to Bayonne. The match next Saturday will offer both an opportunity to get their opening win of the new season. Castres, meanwhile, will play away to Bayonne and will be targeting a victory on the road.
