Orlandi Returns to Home Club

Juan Pablo Orlandi has returned home to Mendoza to play for Marista, the club has confirmed. His return comes at the same time when another product has departed. Marista winger Axel Muller has joined Toulon on a two-year-deal.

The 33-year-old Orlandi has been away from Marista virtually non-stop since 2006. That year he joined Italian side Rovigo. Three years on he signed for Racing 92 fo whom he enjoyed a lengthily career before playing for Bath and the Newcastle Falcons in the Aviva Premiership.

The Argentine tighthead prop’s most recent club, Pau signed him in January as a medical joker. Him joining the Top 14 club saw him miss out on possible game time with Los Jaguares in Super Rugby. As a result others received opportunities  which is reflected in Felipe Arregui and Enrique Pieretto both having been named on Argentina’s bench for today’s match against South Africa.

Orlandi has earned 20 test caps for Argentina. His most recent appearance came in the Bronze Final of Rugby World Cup 2015. The Mendoza tighthead-prop scored a try for the Pumas in that match against South Africa. He may yet earn more.
