Bascou to captain Uruguay vs Rosario

Fernando Bascou will wear the captain’s band for Uruguay on Saturday. The country’s official ‘A’ side, the Uruguay XV will play host to Argentine city-side Rosario in a non-capped fixture. The match is to serve as vital experience for Uruguay by expanding on the senior player base.

With 28 caps to his name Fernando Bascou will lead largely made up of youth. Included are a host of athletes to have come through at junior level.

Two players to emerge in this year’s World Rugby Junior World Trophy are to play. Santiago Arata will be the starting scrum half while Martín Fitipaldo is to play from the bench as a replacement outside back.

The Uruguay XV’s home fixture will be played at the Estadio Charrúa in Montevideo on Saturday. Kick-off is scheduled for 2pm.
