Coetzee Selects Training Squad

Springboks Head Coach Allister Coetzee has selected a squad of players for a training camp in Stellenbosch. Set to take place this coming week the roster contains players from Super Rugby franchises the Bulls, Cheetahs, Sharks and Stormers.

No considered are Lions players due to the Johannesburg franchise having qualified for the Super Rugby final. Also missing are Kings players, the reason being Coetzee determined that the players from rival franchises are better.

Also missing for the time being are foreign-based players. The recent three-match home series against Ireland featured four: Steven Kitshoff, François Louw, Morné Steyn and Duane Vermeulen. All are in contention as are others based in Europe and Japan.

The Springboks will open their Rugby Championship campaign against Argentina on August 20. Taking place at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit it will be the first tournament match in the city.
