Garcia Leaves Italy to Play in France

Gonzalo Garcia has departed Italy to continue his career in France. The 32-year-old has made the transition from Zebre in the Guinness Pro 12 to Stade Cadurcien (Cahors) in the Fédérale 2.

Located in the Languedoc-Roussillon-Midi-Pyrénées region, Cahors is nearby many traditional French rugby towns. The club, though, is to be playing in the country’s fourth division.

Garcia departs Italy with 44 caps to his name. He made his debut for the Azzurri against South Africa in 2008, doing so under controversial circumstances. The same month that Nick Mallet named him he was selected for the Argentina XV. Garcia qualified for Italy based on the Grandparent law.
