El Salvador, Nicaragua Approved for Higher Status by Sudamérica Rugby

At the  Annual General Assembly on Saturday El Salvador and Nicaragua were approved for higher status by Sudamérica Rugby.

Approved as a Sudamérica Rugby member was the Central American republic of El Salvador while Nicaragua obtained associate membership.

The new status of both countries underlines the hard work being done on the ground in these countries. It also gives the Americas increased importance in what is an ever evolving global game.

Suramérica Rugby’s decisions mean that the entity recommends that El Salvador be granted World Rugby membership. It would join fellow Central American Republics Costa Rica and Guatemala in being World Rugby members.
