Pumas Manuel Carizza and Juan Imhoff have both been named to start the Top 14 Final in Barcelona against Toulon on Friday. The side named, including replacements, is unchanged from that which defeated Clermont last Friday in Rennes.
In what was a staggering cliffhanger of a contest, Racing 92 defeated the central French side in overtime, doing so thanks to a late try from Imhoff. The score sees Imhoff now appearing in both the European Champions Cup and Top 14 Finals in the same season.
Fellow Rosario product Carizza is also to feature in his first Top 14 Final and his second club final since being on the losing end of the 2010 European Champions Cup (Heineken Cup) Final. Playing for Biarritz, Carizza’s side lost 21-19 against Toulouse.
