García Veiga moves to Vannes

Martín García Veiga has signed for newly-promoted Pro D2 club Vannes for the 2016/17 season. The former Pumas hooker moves to France from Jersey in the Channel Islands, who he leaves after two seasons as a regular starter in the Greene King IPA Championship. He won the last of his six test caps against Georgia in June of 2013.

Jersey will have no Argentines next season with loosehead prop Ignacio Sáenz Lancuba also departing. ‘Nacho’ was a match-day regular during his two seasons at the club, but could not quite crack first choice with Newcastle-bound Sam Lockwood ahead of him. Sáenz Lancuba is believed to be returning to Argentina for family reasons, with a spot in the Jaguares a possibility next season.
