Americas Rankings – June 05 2016

There have been changes to the Americas Rankings following international competition this weekend. The updated Americas Rankings – June 06 2016 sees Bermuda gaining rankings points at the expense of the Bahamas.

The nations squared-off in this weekend’s only Rugby World Cup Qualification fixture. Played in Bermuda the home side obtained revenge for the 2015 loss to defeat the Bahamas 30-13. The margin was sufficient for Bermuda to gain maximum points as a result.

Bermuda’s new ranking sees a rise from 39,52 points to 39,74, to play Bermuda just behind Venezuela. The exchanged points see the Bahamas dropping from 33,96 to 33,74 points to fall further behind St. Vincent & the Grenadines.

Not involved in rankings this weekend but playing was Chile. Los Cóndores hosted the Argentina XV in a non-capped international. The heavy home loss saw the Argentina XV crowned Sudámerica Rugby Cup winners.

The Americas Rankings will be updated again next Sunday. Taking to the field with rankings on the line will be Argentina and Canada. Los Pumas are to host Italy on Saturday while Canada will take-on Japan. Brazil, Uruguay and the USA will play test matches the following weekend against Kenya, Romania and Italy respectively.

Rugby World Cup Qualification matches in the Rugby Americas North region will resume on June 18. The three matches that day will all have rankings on the line. Jamaica will host Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago will take-on Guyana and the Cayman Islands will face Bermuda.
