Wyles Bags a Double as Saracens Reach Premiership Final

The outstanding form continued from Chris Wyles who bagged a double as Saracens reached the Aviva Premiership Final, downing the Leicester Tigers 44-17 in London on Saturday.

The former USA Eagles captain scored two of Saracens’ five tries including the opening one of the afternoon. His try started off an unprecedented first half hammering of the Leicester Tigers. The London-based side led by a staggering 31-0 at the midway point.

Wyles’ performance was genuine world class and a reminder of what the USA needs to replace following his recent retirement from international rugby. The two tries from the veteran from Connecticut showed speed, vision and finishing abilities.

A fightback did eventuate but Leicester was never realistically able to make a match out of it. It sees Marcos Ayerza and his teammates defeated in Semi Finals in both the European Champions Cup and England’s Aviva Premiership this season.

Ayerza started at loosehead prop for Leicester in Saturday’s Semi Final.  His Rugby World Cup 2011 and 2015 colleagues Marcelo Bosch and Juan Figallo were both on the Saracens bench. The pairing along with Wyles and, potentially, Hayden Smith and Titi Lamositele could all feature in the final against the Exeter Chiefs next Saturday at Twickenham.
