URBA Top 14 to become Top 12 in 2017

The governing body of rugby in Buenos Aires URBA has announced wholesale changes to club rugby in the city, Starting in 2017 the URBA Top 14 will be a Top 12 while all teams will face one-another both home and away with the competition now having six categories.

The model is to move away from the French system of having fourteen clubs in the elite level to now replicating England which has twelve. The remaining divisions, however, are to maintain the existing fourteen team format as outlined in the following model released by URBA.
