Santiago Socino re-signs with Newcastle

Newcastle Falcons’ planning process for the 2016-2017 Aviva Premiership season has undergone further developments. Following the recent re-signing of Puma Belisario Agulla the north-eastern English club side has retained the services of four further players.

The four latest players to commit to the Falcons are Andrew Foster, Calum Green, Glen Young and Argentine Santiago Socino. Newcastle have overseen the transformation of Socino from back row to hooker this season with him featuring regularly for the Newcastle reserve side and also on loan to Darlington Mowden Park.

Aged 24 Santiago is the younger of the two Socino brothers. His elder brother, Juan Pablo, was a part of Argentina’s squad at Rugby World Cup 2015, starting at inside center in the win over Namibia.

A number of players from the Americas have said their goodbyes to the Falcons this season but next season the club is to consist of even more from the Americas. Arriving will be Canadian Evan Olmstead and the Eagles pairing of David Tameilau and Nick Civetta.
