Ezcurra nominated for Sevens Rookie of the Year

Argentina standout Bautista Ezcurra has been nominated for the World Rugby Sevens Rookie of the Year award for the 2015/16 HSBC Sevens Series. The 21-year-old has stepped up to senior rugby this year, just months after captaining Los Pumitas in the 2015 World Rugby u20 Championship tournament. He has scored 97 points this season including a match-winning drop goal to beat New Zealand during the Cup quarter-finals in Cape Town. He also played for the Argentina XV in the Americas Rugby Championship.

Also nominated for the award are Samoan sensation Phoenix Hunapo-Nofoa, teenage prodigy Henry Hutchison of Australia, and hard-working New Zealander Regan Ware. The winner will be announced at an awards function in London this weekend following the final leg of the HSBC Series.
