Big men back for Canada

Canada coach Liam Middleton has heavyweight duo Adam Zaruba and Admir Cejvanovic at his disposal again for the next round of the HSBC Sevens Series to take place in Paris this weekend. The pair return for duty after missing the Singapore tournament. A squad of 13 players has been named with one to be left out in France.

Pat Kay is ruled out through injury, and joins Nanyak Dala, Sean Duke, Harry Jones, Mike Scholz, and Liam Underwood on the disabled list. Phil Mack is also continuing to recover from a knee injury, but will reportedly travel with the side in the hopes that he will be fit to participate in the London tournament next weekend.

Middleton will need to inspire a team low on confidence after a dismal showing in Singapore, finishing an HSBC event win-less for the first time since 2010. The team has yet to reach the Cup final draw during the 2015/16 season and currently sits in 13th on the overall standings. With the final Olympic qualifier in Monaco just five weeks away, the next two tournaments are all that remain to find form.

Joining Canada in Pool D in Paris are Americas counterparts USA and Argentina, as well as hosts France. The matches kick off on Friday, May 13, with all games to be streamed live by World Rugby.
