Assi trades Provence for Biarritz

Following a noteworthy time with Aix en Provence the Belgrano Athletic produced prop, Leandro Assi has signed for French second division rivals Biarritz. The 26 year old has signed to play next season for the Basque club who remain hopeful of reaching there Pro D2 Semi Finals.

In the ongoing Pro D2 season Assi has played thirteen matches. The club’s fortunes have not been great, however. Aix en Provence sit bottom of the table on 38 competition points, seven behind the fourteenth placed Carcassonne. Aix en Provence must climb the ladder or the club will be relegated.

Coincidentally, this past weekend Aix en provence faced Biarritz in round 27 of the Pro D2. Biarritz won the fixture 32-28.
