Wins by Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana this weekend see the two Caribbean countries well positioned in the Caribbean Rugby World Cup Qualifying Standings. Both countries completed bonus point victories to collect the full five points.
The Caribbean qualifying series for Rugby World Cup 2019 is divided into two pools of four. Collectively the series is known as the Rugby Americas North Championship.
Taking place from March 03 through July 02 the competition differs to that from the Rugby World Cup 2015 qualification process. Unlike for 2015 the teams are now divided into North and South zones. Excluded are all Rugby Americas North regional members or prospective members who are not full members of World Rugby.
Comprising the North Zone are Caribbean island nations the Bahamas, Bermuda, the Cayman Islands and Rugby Americas North’s second most populated member, Mexico. Action involving these four is yet to get underway.The North Zone will get underway on May 07 with Barbados playing host to Mexico.

The second round of the North Zone will coincide with round two of the South Zone. May 21 is to be a busy day with a total of four matches. In the North Zone the Cayman Islands are to play host to the Bahamas while Mexico will be at home against Bermuda.
South Zone matches that weekend are to see Barbados at home against Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica looking for a win at home against Guyana. After one round of play the South Zone of the Caribbean Rugby World Cup Qualifying Standings are as follows:
