Two Pumas are to play for Racing 92 in Sunday’s European Rugby Champions Cup Semi Final in Nottingham, England. The suburban Parisian club will travel to England’s East Midlands to take-on the Leicester Tigers who earned home advantage.
Starting for Racing 92 will be Juan Imhoff. The Rosario flier will be part of a star-studded backline which features prominent players with vast experience playing for France, New Zealand and South Africa. The Puma scored the only try in the Quarter Final win over Toulon and has been shortlisted for European club player of the season.
Imhoff is to be joined by fellow Argentine Manuel Carizza, also from Rosario. The second-rower is a previous European Champions Cup Finalist (formerly Heineken Cup) with Biarritz. Carriza has been named on the bench. Missing out is Argentine-Italian tighthead prop Martín Castrogiovanni.
Involved for the Leicester Tigers will be Marcos Ayerza. The veteran loosehead prop previously formed a long-standing partnership with Castrogiovanni for the Tigers. Together they won multiple Aviva Premiership titles.
