Cipriano Martínez Banned from rugby for 29 years

Cipriano Martínez, the Pucará player who kicked the head of an opponent in a recent club match in Buenos Aires has been banned from rugby for 29 years.

The Unión de Rugby de Buenos Aires (Buenos Aires Rugby Union – URBA) determined that Martínez’s actions merited a life ban, thereby preventing him from playing again for 29 years. The extent of the ban had been debated with sources having indicated that he may be banned for as long as 99 years.
