School Rugby Arrives in Santa Rosa, Peru

On March 05 some 89 boys and girls were introduced to rugby for the first time in Santa Rosa, Peru. With the objective of reaching out to 200 boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 15, classes are underway in the Peruvian city. The children are to practice rugby three times a week in Santa Rosa district.

The project is led by Marco Polo Briceño, a coach affiliated with the Federación Peruana de Rugby (Peruvian Rugby Union). The union is working in collaboration with the support of sporting director Rafael Torres.

In October of this year the country will host the South American B Championship for the second time in as many years. Competing will be Colombia, Venezuela and either Ecuador or Guatemala.
