Paraguay warm-up for South American A Championship in Argentina

Paraguay left a good impression in Tucumán, Argentina this past weekend. Los Yakaré were in the Northern Argentine province playing a warm-up fixture ahead of the upcoming South American A Championship. Playing against the renowned Huirapuca club, the home side ran out 33-7 winners.

Present at the club for the fixture was none other than Daniel Hourcade, Head Coach of Los Pumas. El Huevo told the Union de Rugby del Paraguay “the growth of Paraguay is tremendous. When I went there last year, the concepts that I see today were nowhere to be found. The players are using all of the field“.

Honestly I am very happy with the growth of Paraguay because this enables us to all grow in the region“.

The process of growth takes a long time but is evident in the country. Combined with Argentina’s willingness to support rugby’s expansion throughout Latin America the building blocks are in place for a vibrant future.
