Americas Players in Challenge Cup Quarter Finals

Three Americas players are to be in action this weekend in the Challenge Cup Quarter Finals in Europe. The final eight will see test match players from Argentina and the USA taking to the field.

Starting for Gloucester on Saturday will be Argentine second-rower Mariano Galarza. The veteran of two Rugby World Cups will start in what is a home play-off against Welsh region, the Newport Gwent Dragons.

Later on in the day the Harlequins are to host the bottom placed Premiership side, London Irish. Due to the club’s future in the elite being in doubt a number of regulars will not be starting, including Ciaran Hearn. A second Canadian, though, will start with Jebb Sinclair playing second-row. Like Galarza, the Canadian has two Rugby World Cups to his name.

The fourth and final Quarter Final will see Grenoble hosting Connacht in a Top 14 vs Guinness Pro 12 fixture. Named at fly half for the over-performing side from western Ireland is Shane O’Leary. The utility back will face his former club. While he is uncapped he has played for Canada at under 20 level.
