Ebner In, Isles Out for USA

USA Head Coach Mike Friday has made a late change to his roster about to play at the Hong Kong 7s. Nate Ebner has been brought in to replace Carlin Isles. There hasn’t been any confirmation regarding Isles status, but it is presumed that he was ruled out of play due to an injury sustained during training this week.

Ebner, who was in Hong Kong playing for Samurai International was impressive in his return to rugby action. Ebner showed a high work rate, excellent tackling, and good pace as he helped Samurai reach the title match at the Hong Kong 10s. The roster addition marks the first appearance for Ebner on the World Series circuit.

The USA currently sits in 5th place in the World Series standings, 14 points behind 4th place Australia. The Eagles face off against Australia, Argentina, and Portugal in pool play in Hong Kong.
