Pucará prop Cipriano Martínez brutally assaulted San Albano second-rower Juan Masi in a URBA club match in Burazco on Saturday. The act could very well result in a life ban for Martínez.
The incident was caught on camera and can be seen below. Pucará was shamed by the incident, posting the following (in Spanish) on Twitter:

“Pucará Club repudiates the anti-sporting conduct which occurred in the match against San Albano. We wish to extend appropriate apologies to the injured player, to the San Albano Club, and to rugby in general. Pucará Club has taken disciplinary measures.”
Juan Masi was forced off the field hurt while Martínez was red carded instantly. Masi was not seriously hurt during the assault.
Americas Rugby News has been told that Martínez recently joined the club. For this reason alone he should not to be used as a stereotypical Pucará player. The club is one of Buenos Aires’ leaders past and present. Star players from the club include Rimas Álvarez Kairelis, Lucas Borges, and Manuel Montero.
