Lezana, Moyano return to Argentina Injured

Concerns for Los Jaguares are mounting with Tomás Lezana and Ramiro Moyano returning to Argentina Injured. The players were both injured this weekend in Auckland, New Zealand.

Lezana (pictured) had been named to start for the second consecutive week only for the Santiago del Estero forward to be forced out with an injury to his right hamstring. He was replaced by Pablo Matera who started the match.

Also injured in the match was Ramiro Moyano. The Tucumán fullback was the victim of a high tackle and was forced off through concussion protocol. Without a specialist fullback among the reserves Los Jaguares were forced into changes which saw Emiliano Boffelli playing at the back.

The injury to Moyano means he is to miss upcoming international competition. He had been named in the Los Pumas 7’s squad for the Hong Kong Sevens and Singapore Sevens events. Like Lezana, Moyano is to return to Argentina. He will be replaced by Lucas González Amorosino who is on his way from Buenos Aires to meet up with the roster in Wellington.
