Building Blocks set for National Governing Body in Bolivia

With the objective of working with clear and precise goals a national rugby governing body are being set in Bolivia. The land-locked South American country is the last Spanish speaking country in the continental Americas to establish a governing body.

Should all boxes be ticked then Bolivia could join the Sudamérica Rugby program. Suramérica Rugby Regional Development Manager, Francisco Rubio visited Dr. Guillermo Saucedo, SDD director to seek support. He commented: “basically we have come for help in recognizing Bolivian rugby through a federation, I see that there is a lot of predisposition from all the people I have visited, today it was the Santa Cruz governmental department, which gives us great hope that this will be very positive“.

Rubio is working with local government to oversee that Bolivia will successfully participate in the 2018 South American Games. From there, and with a national rugby governing body, Bolivia will be able to acquire Sudamérica Rugby membership.

Upon the full establishment of the continental Americas from the far north of Canada to the south of Argentina will have national governing bodies in all countries. For now the building blocks are in place ofr a national rugby governing body in Bolivia to be established some time this in the coming months.
