Peterson starts for Glasgow against Leinster

US Eagles second row Greg Peterson will start for Glasgow Warriors as they host Leinster at Scotstoun Stadium in a rescheduled Guinness Pro 12 match on Friday. Originally a round 9 fixture set for December 5, the game was postponed due to severe weather conditions and an unplayable surface.

Peterson has appeared in 18 matches all told for Glasgow this season, including seven starts, since joining the team from Leicester Tigers in the off-season. He has won 11 international caps to date including three in the World Cup, and last appeared in an Eagles jersey during round one of the Americas Rugby Championship against the Argentina XV in Houston.

Despite missing several players to international duty with Scotland, Warriors field in impressive side with 15 capped internationals in the match day lineup. Gordon Reid, Fraser Brown, and Mark Bennett suited up for Scotland in the World Cup, while Tonga’s Sila Puafisi, Simone Favaro of Italy, and star Fijian lock Leone Nakarawa were also participants.

Defending champions Glasgow are currently in the middle of the Pro 12 table, tied with Edinburgh on 43 points albeit with two games at hand. They trail 2nd-place Leinster by 14 points.
