World Rugby u20 Trophy fixtures announced

World Rugby has announced the fixture list for the 2016 u20 Trophy competition, to take place in Harare, Zimbabwe, starting on April 19. Two sides from the Americas will be present, with Los Teritos representing Uruguay and the Junior All-Americans heading over from the USA after defeating Canada in Texas last month. The two sides will be in separate pools, making an all-Americas final a distinct possibility.

Uruguay will be part of Pool A along with hosts Zimbabwe and Pacific Island nations Fiji and Samoa, the latter having been relegated from the u20 Championship following defeat to Italy in 2015. Joining the USA in Pool B will be Hong Kong, Namibia, and Spain.

All pool matches will take place at the Harare Sports Club, with the final day moving to the National Stadium. It’s unclear whether the games will be streamed in full, but World Rugby will post a highlights package at the end of each match day. The winner of the competition will gain automatic entry into the 2017 World Rugby u20 Championship, to be held in Tbilisi, Georgia.
