Argentine scrum half Tomás Cubelli Scored on Super Rugby debut for the Brumbies this morning. Taking on last season’s beaten finalists, the Hurricanes, the Canberra based Super Rugby franchise got off to an impressive start winning 52-10.
The Belgrano Athletic number 9 started for the Australian side and went over for his team’s second try. It came from an advancing scrum in which the ball popped out the back of the leg’s of number 8 Ita Vaea. Cubelli picked it up to dart over with three Hurricanes defenders caught off guard.
Cubelli moved to Australia after having initially signed to play for Los Jaguares. The move has benefited both the player and franchise with Gonzalo Bertranou and Felipe Ezcurra now receiving new-found opportunities in support of Martín Landajo.
