Peru to host 2016 South American B Championship in October

The 2016 South American B Championship will be a Four Nations competition involving Colombia, Peru, Venezuela and the winner of the repechage qualifier. Either Ecuador vs Guatemala will qualify as the fourth participant. Their match will be played in June.

As the South American B side involved in the play-off Ecuador will have home advantage. The venue is yet to be determined but it will be played on Saturday June 11, likely in either Quito or Guayaquil.

The South American B Championship will be played four months later and, like in 2015, it will be played exclusively in Peru. From October 01-08 the tournament will have added value with the winner entering the qualifying process for Rugby World Cup 2019.

The 2016 South American B Championship winner will play at home on October 29 against the Americas Rugby North Champion. The winner of this South vs North America play-off will enter the Rugby World Cup qualifying process with a chance of reaching Japan 2019 as repechage 2.
