2016 South American A Championship

With the participation of Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay the 2016 South American A Championship will take place in April and May. The participants in the Four Nations competition were confirmed in December when the 2015 wooden spooners, Brazil defeated Colombia in repechage.

All participants are to have a sporting chance with matches played exclusively on Saturday’s. They will  play against each opponent once. Match days are to be April 23, April 30 and May 7.

The two top placed sides from the 2015 South American A Championship, Chile and Uruguay, earned the right to participate in the 2016 Sudamérica Rugby Cup . The competition has undergone rebranding from the CONSUR Cup with the new name being applied this year.

The 2016 Sudamérica Rugby Cup will see Argentina playing away against both Chile and Uruguay. These matches are to be played on May 28 and June 04. Uruguay’s home match against Chile in the South American A Championship on May 07 will double as a Sudamérica Rugby Cup match.
