Second Stage of UAR Plan 2016-2020

The second Stage of UAR Plan 2016-2020 has been revealed by Argentine rugby managers and directors of the regional centers. Led by the National Director of Rugby, Martín Mackey (pictured) they met at Campo Timbo from February 16-19 to confirm the developmental strategic plan for the coming four years.

During the first stage the UAR focused efforts on players aged 18 and over and established five regional centers (Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Mendoza, Rosario and Tucumán) in which the selected players received nutrition, injury prevention, hygiene and security to improve their physicality and their game.

This national plan is set to continue and to be expanded throughout all of Argentina. For the second stage the UAR is to assign a High Performance Center to 14 unions. They will be used to develop the UAR’s vision through a provincial plan which will capitalize on improving the tactical and physical coaches of the clubs.

The director of each center is to be responsible for the daily function and management of each unit and in determining who the work to be done and the groups to be trained. The clubs of these unions should nominate an official, who will be designated to the trainers.

The director of each individual center will establish the day and month of the year in which the designated players will gather. In each center there are to be 12 tactical coaches training per month and 2 physical.

Those involved will be able to learn the methodology of the UAR that has been used for Argentina’s representative teams to great effect.

The focal point of the training are to be APRENDER A ENSEÑAR, or LEARNING TO TEACH in English. The coaches are to first have theoretical preparation in which they are to receive the coaching methodology and from there they will train the players at the training centers for 40 minutes each. Before and after each session they are to receive feedback from the Center’s Director.

APRENDER A ENSEÑAR has as its pillars an understanding that those involved will acquire knowledge flow, role and function of coaches to lead, assist and observe components of a practice session and intensity. They are to use this understanding by applying it during training that will develop in productivity.

The objective is for them to acquire they concepts and use apply them to their clubs. They are to also learn about training in a collaborative manner. In total more than 1000 coached will be involved in the APRENDER A ENSEÑAR program.
