Chile confirm team to face Eagles

Chile have confirmed their match day squad to face the US Eagles at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday in round three of the Americas Rugby Championship. After an overwhelming defeat at the hands of the Argentina XV last weekend, Los Cóndores have opted to make six changes to their starting lineup for their first test on US soil since 2002.

Tomás Dussaillant steps in at hooker, with Felipe Bassaletti included at lock and Ignacio Silva on the flank. Rodrigo Moya, Nikola Bursic, and Cristobal Niedmann move to the bench to make room. An entirely new back three run out with Humberto Chacaltana, Matías Contreras, and Pablo Casas replacing Ítalo Zunino, José Ignacio Larenas, and Leonardo Montoya respectively.

It’s been a messy start to the tournament for Chile, who opened with a narrow victory over Brazil before running out of steam in the final quarter against the Argentines. Saturday’s match kicks off at 6pm EST / 8pm Chile and will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
